New dates set for SCRA Workshop. The SCRA announces that the nuts and bolts workshop will be held December 6-8, 2011, in Riverdale, Maryland. The workshop organized with collaboration from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, and the USDA-Animal Plant Health Inspection Service will provide crop developers with the information needed to begin developing regulatory dossiers for biotechnology-derived crops.
Biotech Plum approved by EPA. On 26 May 2010, the EPA issued the final rule that exempts from the requirement for a tolerance for residues of the coat protein of plum pox virus in or on stone fruit and almond when expressed by the plant-incorporated protectant, coat protein gene of plum pox virus.
